Jim Beam’s ‘Mix For Kid Rock Contest’ Rewards Winner With Three Concert Stops This Summer


Of all the brand promotions, this is one of the most creative. At least, it offers one of the best prizes for those of the type of mind.

Jim Beam is offering fans to be Kid Rock’s bartender on tour!

It’s called Jim Beam’s “Mix for Kid Rock Contest” and you can compete for the chance to be the rock star’s personal bartender during his “Best Night Ever” tour.

One super-lucky fan will have the opportunity hit the road with Kid Rock for three tour stops this summer, experience a one-on-one bartender training from Beam’s Master Mixologist and, get this, earn a $10,000 salary.

You’ll be asked to enter an essay of 250 words on less telling Jim Beam why you are worthy of being Kid Rock’s bartender. “Be creative, but keep it clean,” the form advises.

Deadline is midnight on June 7 and about a week later, 10 finalists will be selected. Those people will then be asked to submit a short video. The winner will be notified on or about July 1.

This being the USA, you must be 21 or older to enter.

You’ve experience crowds in bars before, of course.

But how about crowds in a bar convention!?

Check this out; this 2013 Nightclub & Bar Convention and Trade Show in Las Vegas had nearly 40,000 people.

The actual attendance number was 37,740, and that’s a whopping 11% increase over the previous year. Little wonder; the event is the premier, “must-do” event for anyone in the nightclub, bar, beer and spirits industry. And that’s not PR fluff from a press release; I’ve been to it several times and write those words from personal experiences.

In 2013, there was also a 10% increase in new exhibiting companies. In all, nearly 700 companies were at the event.

“We are thrilled with the success of this year’s show and were pleased to offer our attendees access to the top beverage, bar and nightlife vendors in the country,” said Jon Taffner, President of Nightclub & Bar Media Group and also star of Spike TV’s “Bar Rescue.”

“Our sponsors, including Indemnity Insurance Corporation, Anheuser Busch, MillerCoors, Diageo Innovation, Revention, TY KU, Spike’s Bar Rescue, Kahlua Midnight, BevIntel and Coca-Cola, displayed some of the newest, most innovative and technologically advanced products and services our industry has ever seen,” Taffner added. “Once again, Las Vegas, the nightlife capital of the world, provided the perfect back drop to showcase our industry.”
