Why Stop at UK Kontinent Brew, How About A PubClub.com Pilsner?
So I got to thinking, if Google can have its own beer, why not every company?
The Internet giant used input from its employees all over the world to create a Belgian-style ale called UK Kontinent, brewed by Dogfish Head Crafted Brewed Ales (initially available in the microbrewery’s home of Delaware, but perhaps coming to a convenience store near you soon).
Picture an Apple Pale Ale, a Barclays or Boeing Bock, an H-P Hefeweizen, an IBM IPA, a LinkedIn Lager, a Pioneer Electronics Porter. And what of the marketing opportunities if sports teams and resorts/destinations had their own labeled brew: a California Blonde Ale, Pittsburgh Steelers Stout, etc.
Having a PubClub.com beer, parent of this blog, would be awesome.
Using Google’s formula, that brew would combine elements from places around the world in which PubClub has visited: A base of good ‘ol American Budweiser from St. Louis, a dash of liquid sunshine of Kona Longboard and Firerock from Hawaii, Budvar from Prague, Hofbrau from Munich Oktoberfest, Amstel and Heineken from Amsterdam (the European brew, not the stuff they serve us here in the States), whatever lager it is they serve you in London pubs, Molson Canadian from Canada, Red Stripe and Presidente from the Caribbean and even Mythos from the Greek Islands.
For my tastes, it would be a lager or perhaps even a pilsner – ohh, PubClub Pilsner! – served cold.
It could be brewed locally to PubClub, at the Budweiser brewery in Van Nuys, CA; Anheuser-Busch is investing money in that facility, anyway.
Why not create a whole new corporate identity with such brews? It sure would tap into the full potential of the employees, perhaps even get the economy flowing.
And just imagine debuting it at the ultimate team building exercise: A keg party!
